Kinlee Privacy Policy
Last Updated: 03/30/2026
Kinlee ("Kinlee," "we," "our," or "us") operates the Kinlee mobile application and related services (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use the App.
By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to all users of the App, regardless of location. The App is not directed to children, and users must be at least 18 years old.
We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information in the following categories:
A. Information You Provide Directly
We collect:
- Account information (your name, email address, and password)
- Your child's name, date of birth, and home languages (used to personalize daily strategies)
- Your stated parenting goal, selected during onboarding
- Written notes and reflections you save in the app
- Voice recordings you record for journaling or reflection (these are transcribed to text, see Section 5.A)
- Customer support communications
Kinlee does not assess, score, or track your child's developmental skills. We do not ask for or store a skills checklist. The child information we store is used solely to personalize the content you see.
You acknowledge that any child-related data you submit is provided voluntarily by you as the legal guardian.
B. Automatically Collected Information
We may automatically collect:
- Device information (model, operating system, identifiers)
- App usage data (features used, session duration, interactions)
- Log data (IP address, timestamps, crash reports)
- Approximate location (derived from IP address, not precise GPS unless explicitly enabled)
C. Payment Information
Subscriptions are processed through the Apple App Store and managed via RevenueCat, our subscription management provider. We do not receive or store credit card information.
D. Third-Party Data
We may receive limited information from:
- App store platforms (Apple App Store)
- Payment and subscription providers (RevenueCat)
- Sign-in providers, if you use them (Google Sign-In)
Kinlee does not currently use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
3. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Operate and maintain the App
- Provide educational content and features
- Personalize user experience (non-clinical)
- Improve functionality and performance
- Respond to support requests
- Process payments and subscriptions
- Enforce Terms and prevent misuse
- Ensure security and fraud prevention
We do not provide medical, therapeutic, or diagnostic services.
4. No Sale of Personal Information
We do not sell personal information as defined under California law.
We do not exchange personal data for monetary value.
5. Sharing of Information
We may share information in the following limited circumstances:
A. Service Providers
We share limited information with the following named service providers, each bound by contractual confidentiality obligations and used only to deliver the App's functionality:
- Railway — cloud hosting for our servers and database
- Anthropic (Claude) — generates written coaching feedback in response to your reflections. When you save a reflection, we send Anthropic your child's first name, age in months, developmental stage, home languages, your stated parenting goal, and the text of your current and prior reflections. We do not send your email address or last name.
- OpenAI — transcribes your voice recordings into text. When you record a voice reflection, the audio is sent to OpenAI's speech-to-text service and returned as text. OpenAI does not use this audio to train its models.
- RevenueCat — manages subscriptions and entitlements
- Apple App Store — processes subscription payments
- Resend — sends transactional email (password resets and service notifications)
- Google Sign-In — optional authentication provider
- Apple Push Notification Service (APNs) — delivers push notifications to your device
Each of these providers has its own privacy policy governing how it handles data. We encourage you to review them.
B. Legal Compliance
We may disclose information if required to:
- Comply with applicable law or legal process
- Respond to lawful government requests
- Enforce our Terms
- Protect rights, safety, or property
C. Business Transfers
If Kinlee is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
D. Aggregated or De-Identified Data
We may use or share anonymized or aggregated data that cannot reasonably identify you.
6. Children's Data and COPPA
Kinlee is designed for parents and caregivers of children aged 0–36 months. The App is intended for adult users only and is not directed to children. Users must be at least 18 years old.
COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act). Kinlee does not collect personal information directly from children under 13. The App has no features that children can use, create accounts on, or otherwise interact with. All information about a child that appears in the App is voluntarily entered by the child's parent or legal guardian acting on the child's behalf.
Any child-related information we hold (name, date of birth, home languages) is:
- Voluntarily provided by the adult user
- Stored and processed solely to personalize the daily strategies that adult user receives
- Never used for advertising, profiling, or sold to any third party
- Not shared with any third party except the named service providers listed in Section 5.A, and only to the extent needed to deliver the App's functionality
If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information directly, please contact us at support@kinlee.app and we will promptly delete it.
7. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as necessary to:
- Provide the App
- Comply with legal obligations
- Resolve disputes
- Enforce agreements
You may request deletion of your account, subject to legal and operational requirements.
8. Data Security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information.
However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of information transmitted or stored.
You acknowledge that you provide information at your own risk.
9. Your Privacy Rights (U.S. & California Users)
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to:
- Access personal information
- Request deletion
- Request correction
- Opt out of certain data processing
To exercise rights, contact us at: support@kinlee.app
We may verify your identity before processing requests.
10. California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA Notice)
If you are a California resident, you have rights including:
- Right to know what personal information is collected
- Right to delete personal information
- Right to correct inaccurate information

- Right to limit use of sensitive personal information (if applicable)
We do not discriminate against users for exercising privacy rights.
11. International Users
If you access the App from outside the United States, you acknowledge that your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States.
12. Third-Party Services
The App may integrate third-party services.
We are not responsible for:
- Privacy practices of third parties
- Data collection by external platforms
- Actions of service providers outside our control
You should review third-party privacy policies independently.
13. Do Not Track
The App does not currently respond to "Do Not Track" signals.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of changes.
15. Disclaimer of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- We are not liable for unauthorized access, data breaches, or interception of data
- We are not responsible for damages arising from use of the App or reliance on its features
- You use the App and provide information at your own risk
16. Data Deletion Requests
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time directly from within the Kinlee app: open Profile, scroll to the bottom, and tap Delete Account. Deletion is immediate and permanent; your account, your child's profile, and every reflection, note, and activity you've saved will be removed from our systems and cannot be recovered.
Important note about subscriptions. Deleting your Kinlee account does not cancel your Apple subscription. Apple manages all subscription billing through the App Store, and only you can cancel it, in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your iPhone or iPad. If you have an active Kinlee subscription and you want to stop being billed, you must cancel it in Apple Settings in addition to deleting your Kinlee account. We cannot cancel Apple subscriptions on your behalf. When you tap Delete Account inside the app, we show you a direct link to Apple's subscription settings to make this easier.
If you are unable to access the app and need assistance exercising this right, contact us at support@kinlee.app.
We may retain limited information where required by law or for legitimate business purposes (for example, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, and anonymized product feedback you voluntarily provide at the time of deletion).
